Job Introduction

Station Commander B – HMICFRS Inspection and Fire Standards

As a Station Commander, you will be part of our HMICFRS Fire Inspection and Fire Standards team. As a Station Commander, you will be part of our HMICFRS Fire Inspection and Fire Standards team. Your main tasks will include  

  • Assist with Inspection preparedness, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Support the assurance processes for the HMICFRS Inspection, Inspection Improvement Plan (IIP) and Thematic reviews/spotlights.
  • Deliver innovative assurance processes, including deep dives and reality testing.
  • Support the inspection protocols and Fire Standards.
  • Contribute to the assurance processes on fire standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support and coordinate the HMICFRS Inspection preparedness and Fire Standards.
  • Implement the programme of activity, including reality testing and evidence gathering in preparation for the HMICFRS Inspection.
  • Ensure compliance with national Fire Standards, through the implementation of the assurance processes and providing scrutiny.
  • Work with stakeholders to promote best practices and highlight area of success, alongside potential areas for improvement.
  • Assist in assuring service improvement through established processes.
