This role has a starting salary of £40,929 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

Our Woking Locality team have a permanent Social Worker vacancy and are looking for an experienced person to join their friendly team. The team is based in Quadrant Court, 35 Guildford Road, Woking, however it is our intention to move within the local area to Victoria Gate in Central Woking later this year. The team offers hybrid working, with 2-3 days expected in the office and, during the initial induction period, you will be office-based for 5 days a week.

About the Team
We are a dedicated team serving residents in Woking who need care and support. We cater to those over 65 who may require assistance, as well as individuals under 65 with physical disabilities, illnesses, or sensory impairments. We work closely with carers, family members, and partner organisations to help residents live their best possible lives, ensuring no one is left behind. We are committed to supporting carers and family members, recognising the vital role they play in the lives of those they care for.
Our professional team includes Social Care and Occupational Therapy Assistants, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. We prioritise learning and development at both individual and team levels. This role offers a supportive team environment, excellent training, and development opportunities, including our Social Work Academy 'Senior Readiness Programme,' which helps Social Workers progress to Senior Social Worker level.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic qualified and registered Social Worker with a variety of skills and experiences undertaking duty, S9 assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments and S42 Enquires.
The role is varied and complex, and no two days are the same! You will work across various unique projects that ensure the people we support can enjoy a home of their own, and an environment in which they are supported to live a healthy and meaningful lifestyle.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
- Professional qualification in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England
- Successful completion of an Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme if qualified as a social worker after June 2012
- An understanding and experience of working with a strengths-based approach
- Knowledge of current legislation such as the Care Act and The Mental Capacity Act
- Experience in assessment, preparation of support plans and reviewing outcomes
- Experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries and examples of you using your professional judgement in complex situations
- Commitment to your own professional development
Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long-term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
