This role has a starting salary of £61,954 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.
This is secondment contract up to 3rd February 2026. Please discuss with your current Line Manager before submitting your application.
We are excited to be hiring a new Team Manager (Social Work or Occupational Therapy qualified) to join our fantastic Spelthorne Locality Team based in the Ashford Centre in Spelthorne. This role is hybrid with 3 days per week in the office, however the successful applicant will initially be office-based for five days per week whilst you familiarise yourself with the team.

About the Role
The Spelthorne Locality Team supports older persons and adult residents with physical disabilities in Surrey.
We are a team of mixed professional registrations and experience who are passionate about achieving positive outcomes for the residents of Surrey, promoting their independence and wellbeing through personalised care, and support that focuses upon their strengths and the outcomes they want to achieve.
We support front line teams in delivering excellence within the legal framework that we all operate within.
As a Team Manager you will be leading a dynamic team delivering adult social care services to the local community. You will also be part of a wider management team ensuring CQC compliance, all within the context of the Surrey Way.
Your role will be to ensure frontline care services are of a high quality and customer-focused, whilst taking responsibility for leading the team and managing resources. Your responsibilities will also include putting measures in place for risk management and business continuity, building relationships with partner agencies and service providers and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
Your Application
In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:
- Social work, occupational therapy or other relevant professional qualification
- Experience of successful management of staff, including managing performance and development, addressing conduct, attendance, and performance capability issues
- Skill in managing budgets, with experience of managing the delivery and improvement of social care
- Understanding of personalisation and strengths-based assessments
- Significant knowledge and/or experience of health and social care
- Experience of delivering adult social care services, and a comprehensive and applied knowledge of adult social care legislation
Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long-term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
