About the Role

As Crew Commander, you will support the Watch Commander in managing the watch and delivering effective emergency response, community safety programmes, and station operations. You’ll provide leadership at incidents, support team development, and help drive the station plan forward.

You’ll also deputise for the Watch Commander when required and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high standards of service delivery.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are passionate about leadership, community engagement, and operational excellence.

Essential Criteria:

  • ICS Level 1 or equivalent
  • Operationally fit for duty
  • Competent in the Crew Commander role or have passed the Crew Commander boarding process

Desirable Criteria:

  • ILM Level 3 or equivalent
  • IOSH Supervising Safely
  • Strong operational abilities and confidence in procedures and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use FireWatch and record prevention/protection activity via P&P
  • Understanding of organisational change and the drivers behind it
  • Commitment to community safety and the Station Plan
