The starting salary for this role is £61,784 per annum for working 36 hours per week. 

Due to internal development, we have an exciting opportunity to join our residential leadership team as the Resource Manager for our children's home located in Woking.

About The Role 

Ruth House provides specialist care and support for children with disabilities aged 11-18 with diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Learning Disabilities (LD). Children are either cared for full time by Ruth House with some family contact or on shared care arrangements. As a Resource Manager you will lead and support the Ruth team which is rated by Ofsted as Outstanding you able to read more about Ruth House here Ofsted praise ‘remarkable progress’ made by children living at ‘Outstanding’ Ruth House for Surrey children with learning or neurodevelopmental disabilities   | Surrey News 

Your strong leadership abilities, passion, and motivation for running your home will shine through to your team, children and young people. You will have a practical understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations and the Ofsted inspection framework, using your previous experience and abilities to manage your home safely and effectively. 

Your approach will be strength based, individualised and trauma informed, and will be underpinned by effective assessment and risk management skills. You will work collaboratively with your team to create a homely and caring environment that supports children and young people to achieve positive outcomes through creative and innovative engagement and activities. 

Your team will be your biggest asset and their input under your expert guidance and leadership, will create the conditions for success and an inclusive culture where team members and children and young people feel welcomed, valued and supported. 

Building trust with the team and your children and young people will be key to this role and this will run through all you do, from any direct work with children and young people, to supervision with your team, career conversations, regular feedback sessions and working with key stakeholders across the home and our residential services in Surrey. 

Your Application   

In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:  

  • A track record of managing Good and Outstanding homes
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • In depth knowledge of delivering statutory childcare services with, at least 2 years’ experience within children’s residential care, within the last 5 years
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills in a social care or health setting
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships built on trust in sometimes challenging situations
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work- no two days in our homes are ever the same!

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and our residential colleagues will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel as required.
